In addition to releasing the D-535 Zoom, Olympus also announced on Thursday its new C-7000 digital camera, a 7-megapixel model that features 5x optical zoom with 30x total zoom capability, a TruePic Turbo Image Processor for sharper pictures, Super Macro mode for shooting subjects from as close as .8 inches and auto-focus target selection with 143 different auto-focus target zones as well as manual focus. In addition, the C-7000 offers 10 scene modes, four definable My Mode settings, automatic red eye fix and VGA movie shooting at 30 frames per second.
The C-7000 weighs just under eight ounces and is 4 x 2.3 x 1.7 inches. It includes PictBridge technology for direct printing to any compatible printer and USB 2.0 connectivity. When the camera ships for US$599.99 next month, it will come with a 32MB xD-Picture memory card, a Lithium Ion battery and charger, USB and audio/video out cables and CAMEDIA Master Pro photo management and editing software.
