OmniPilot Software announced on Thursday that Lasso Professional 7.1 is now available for download from its Web site. The upgrade to the company’s Web application server tool adds compatibility with FileMaker Pro 7, allowing developers of data-driven sites to keep pace with the most popular database software available for the Mac. The software is also compatible with MySQL and JDBC data sources, enabling the interchange of information between databases, and it features a built-in encryption system.
OmniPilot noted that current Lasso Pro 7 users have until Sept. 24 to upgrade for free while those who own any previous version can upgrade for US$299. Sixty days of free support is included with any upgrade purchased before the cut-off. Full Lasso Pro 7.1 licenses are as little as $649, with an evaluation copy request form available on the OmniPilot Web site. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2, a G3 or better processor, 256MB RAM, Apache Web Server 1.3 or 2.0, or the latest version of WebSTAR V. X11 for Mac OS X v10.3 is required for Lasso’s [Image] tags to function; those tags are not supported under v10.2.
