Inside Digital Media has posted an interview with Microsoft’s Senior Director of MSN Entertainment, Rob Bennett. Bennett and host Phil Leigh discuss Microsoft’s plans for its new music service.
Topics include access to the service via a compatible web browser or Microsoft’s Windows Media Player 10, support for music services other than MSN Music Service from within Windows Media Player (the iTunes Music Store is not among them), and support for multiple music players through MTP (Media Transfer Protocol), a technology that allows more than 70 music players to be recognized by Windows Media Player without the need for additional drivers. (The iPod is incompatible with the service.)
The interview runs 31 minutes and is available in Real Audio format only.
