Kingston Technology Inc. said on Monday that its new 2GB and 4GB CompactFlash Elite Pro cards are now available. They read and write data at speeds up to 10MB and 8MB per second, respectively, and use an autosleep mode to preserve the host device’s battery life. Kingston noted that the 2GB cards should work in any device that uses CompactFlash, but the 4GB version may be incompatible with some cameras, MP3 players and PDAs. Pricing is US$219 for the 2GB version and $500 for the 4GB one. Kingston had not added the new cards to its Web site as MacCentral posted this article.
