Divers bored with the sound of their own bubbles will soon have the opportunity to listen to more melodious audio while submerged. iRiver and Diver Entertainment Systems (DES) have teamed up to create the H20 Audio DV series — an iRiver iFP-300T flash player housed in a fully waterproof casing designed by DES.
The case is submersible up to 200 feet and features waterproof headphones, a headphone amplifier, “robust controls,” and a secure locking mechanism. The iRiver player supports up to 1GB of storage, offers up to 40 hours of battery life from a single AA battery, includes an FM tuner and a built-in voice recorder, and can play audio files in MP3, wma and wma-drm, and Ogg Vorbis formats.
The H2O Audio SV i700 housing and headphones cost $99. MSRP for the iRiver iFP-700 series is iFP-780 ($119.99), iFP-790 ($149.99), iFP-795 ($199.99) and iFP-799 ($249.99).
