Companion Engineering & Design Corp. announced on Wednesday the availability of a preview release of Intuem RW 3.0, the company’s software for working with ReWire devices, such as Propellerhead Software’s Reason. This upgrade features full support for ReWire 2, a redesigned mixer, audio play-through for listening to audio as you record it and more.
In addition, Intuem RW 3.0 offers the option to change playback speed from one-fourth to three times the normal speed, allows you to drag and drop files from the Finder into the application, enables viewing and editing controller tracks for AudioUnit instruments, adds the ability to place AudioUnits into groups and includes several bug fixes and performance enhancements. Mac OS X v10.3 users can also now preview audio files before importing them.
This preview release is US$39 as an upgrade or $79 for the full version, but buyers will receive a free copy of the final release when it’s available. At that time, which the developer hasn’t specified, upgrades will increase to $49. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.6 (v10.3 recommended), a G3 running at 500MHz (dual-processor G4 recommended) and 512MB RAM.
