Luxology LLC noted on Wednesday that its new 3D polygonal modeling software
is now available. Geared toward artists who need a larger toolset for working with 3D polygon and subdivision surface modeling, modo features hundreds of tools that can be modified by each other for additional options, a real-time modeling engine, a help system with integrated training video clips and the ability to fit it into existing 3D pipelines.
Pricing is US$895, although modo is currently available for an introductory price of $695 — Luxology did not say when the reduction will expire. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2.8, a G3 processor, 512MB RAM, 100MB hard drive space, an OpenGL-enabled video card and a DVD-ROM drive.
