Epson on Tuesday announced that it is making available a new software technology called EasyPrint. The software makes it easier for Mac and Windows users to output digital photos to compatible Epson printers, according to the company, by bypassing the usual printer driver. Adobe’s recently-announced Photoshop Elements 3.0 incorporates EasyPrint technology. In addition to being available as an Application Programming Interface (API) that can be integrated directly into third-party applications, EasyPrint is also available for download as a standalone utility. It supports Stylus C84, Stylus Photo 900, 960, 2200, R200, R300/R300M, R320, R800, Stylus CX6400, CX4600, CX6600 and Stylus Photo RX500 models running Mac OS X.
