SanDisk Corp. on Wednesday introduced its Extreme III flash memory card line. The Extreme III line is available in Compact Flash, SD and Memory Stick Pro formats. The Compact Flash and SD cards have minimum write and read speeds of 20MB/sec, while the Memory Stick Pro cards are rated at 18MB/sec. Available in capacities of one to four gigabytes, the cards have double the performance speed of SanDisk’s previous Extreme products, according to the company. Suggested retail prices range from US$139.99 to $559.99 depending on format and capacity. The Web site had not been updated with information about Extreme III products as MacCentral posted this article.
