Wichita, Kansas-based storage peripheral maker WiebeTech LLC on Wednesday introduced TrayDock, a device that enables users to mount 3.5-inch Serial ATA (SATA) or standard IDE drives via FireWire. It sports a hot-swappable removable tray that plugs into an enclosure equipped with FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 interfaces. Additional drive trays can be purchased. Prices start at US$169.95 for an empty enclosure with tray to $649.95 for a system equipped with a 400GB IDE drive; additional SATA or IDE trays cost $49.95 each. WiebeTech expects to begin shipping the TrayDock on October 14, 2004.
