Sony is hoping to counter the growing European popularity of Apple’s iTunes Music store with a new ad campaign to raise consumer awareness of its own Connect service. The company announced its plans at this week’s Popkomm music event in Berlin, Germany, and it comes at a time when Apple seems poised to extend its reach beyond the U.K., France and Germany, where both Apple and Sony are competing now. to “cover a good portion of western Europe,” though he was short on specifics.
