Berkeley, Calif.-based WorldSync Inc. announced Thursday the start of its SyncDeK Developer Alliance (SDA). The company hopes the effort will spur interest and collaboration from developers using SyncDeK, which enables FileMaker Pro-based databases to synchronize data between multiple sites and remote users. SyncDeK is asynchronous, so it can sync databases that are frequently offline, such as those used by mobile workers.
Members of the SDA receive access to a member-only online community and the ability to use a distributed knowledge base, priority training status, access to pre-release software, free updates to SyncDeK Developer and co-marketing opportunities. The company is also offering an Associate Membership which adds discounted pricing for SyncDeK Engines, priority for client referrals, and listing as as an “experienced SyncDeK developer.” The cost of membership includes a free SyncDeK Developer Kit. It costs US$599, or $299 if you’re already a registered SyncDeK Developer. Renewal is $199 annually. Associate membership costs $699 ($399 for registered SyncDeK developers) and $299 annually for renewal.
