My old Bud, Bud Jenschke, wrote in to tell me of an errant menu item. With a simple press/click/drag we took care of same. In Bud’s own words…
I had a problem with my Quicksilver that required I reinstall OS 10.3. Since I didn’t want to start completely from scratch and reload all my apps, utilities, users, etc., I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the installation on my PowerBook G3 (Pismo) to my Quicksilver G4.One minor glitch remains — I now have the battery icon from the menu bar on my Pismo in the menu bar on my Quicksilver. It works correctly and I can bring up the Energy Saver preference panel using it. When the Energy Saver preference panel is opened, it lists the normal panels for Power Macs and does not show any panels for a battery as the Pismo would.
Yup, that will happen. I told Bud that while it might be fun to root around in his user’s Library folder to locate the source of the problem, he’d more quickly remove this annoyance by holding down the Command key, clicking on the battery icon, and dragging the icon to the desktop, where it disappears with a “poof!”
