MetaCommunications, Inc. announced on Tuesday that Virtual Ticket 6.0 will ship Oct. 30 and that Virtual Ticket Web Server 1.5 is available now. The former is an upgrade to the company’s production platform for printing, publishing and creative development. It introduces native Mac OS X support to the software and includes over 25 new features and enhancements, including performance improvements in the MetaScript scripting engine and the ability to create custom SQL queries directly from the software. Base package pricing will be US$999, with additional concurrent user license packs starting at $659. Customers with valid Software Assurance & Support agreements will be able to upgrade for free.
Virtual Ticket Web Server is an add-on that enables digital asset management through a Web browser-based interface. Version 1.5 adds support for KPG’s RealTimeProof digital proofing solution, allowing users to access assets in the RealTimeProof Partner application. The user interface has also been improved. Customers with valid Software Assurance & Support agreements can upgrade for free. Base package licensing starts at $3,995, with additional concurrent user license packs starting at $199. System requirements for Virtual Ticket 6.0 were not made available, and MetaCommunications’ Web site had not been updated with current information about either product as MacCentral posted this article.
