Monkey Tools announced on Wednesday the release of Sound Grinder 2.0, an upgrade to the company’s audio file conversion utility that adds support for the OGG Vorbis, AMR Narrowband and Apple Lossless file formats as well as the MP3 LAME codec. In addition, Sound Grinder 2.0 adds Rapid Convert — a new feature that enables direct audio file conversion within Mac OS X contextual menus, Finder services and the Dock — as well as support for pull-up/pull-down sample rates, folder hierarchy recreation and 31-character file names.
Registered Sound Grinder users who purchased a previous version of the software between March 1 and Oct. 4, 2004 will receive an e-mail explaining how they can upgrade. The full version is US$39. Mac OS X v10.2.6, QuickTime 6.3 and 800 x 600 screen resolution are required.
