Developer Biovolution has unveiled iMap 3, an upgrade to the company’s application for mapping geo-referenced data onto image or vector maps. The new version sports over 30 new features, including seamless integration with FileMaker databases and Excel spreadsheets, the ability to query a map against information in the database, the ability to map data based on U.S. zip codes, a plug-in format for extending the software’s functionality and more. In addition, Biovolution has more than 80 free maps available for download from its Web site. This upgrade requires Mac OS X v10.3 and sells for US$99 as an upgrade from version 2 or $199 for the full edition. Site licenses for fewer than 15 Macs are $299.
