Waves in Motion has released an update to Analyzer, its troubleshooting and debugging tool for FileMaker solutions developers. Version 4.0 brings compatibility with FileMaker 7.0 to the software and offers several new features, including the addition of Orange and Green Dots for flagging problems with dependencies and references, hot-links to elements, the ability to compare one version of a database against another and more. The company also noted that Analyzer 4.0 is faster at importing FileMaker solutions that previous versions of the software.
Analyzer 4.0 works with FileMaker 7 only; developers using an earlier version of the database software should employ Analyzer 3.6. It’s US$399, with a bundle that includes Analyzer 3.6 available for $429. Waves in Motion asks non-profit organizations, schools and owners of previous versions of Analyzer to contact them for pricing. A 30-day demo that disables the printing function, watermarks reports with the text “unregistered version” and introduces a time delay in certain areas of the software is available. Waves in Motion doesn’t note the minimum version of Mac OS X required.
