Alera Technologies on Monday announced its Digital Photo Copy Cruiser Plus, a Mac and Windows-compatible external CD-Recorder that sports built-in slots for flash memory cards. The drive can work independently of a computer to burn files from a memory card to a CD-R, and supports Compact Flash Type I and II, SD, MM, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro and Micro Drive formats. The drive also features a built-in lithium ion battery. Built-in disc spanning abilities enable users to copy 1GB memory cards onto multiple CD-Rs.
The drive plays DVD Videos, CDs, JPEG files, MP3 files from CDs, DVDs and memory cards. It connects to the Mac using a USB 2.0 interface and includes NTI Dragon Burn. It can connect to a TV or entertainment system using component, S-video or composite video signals, and features stereo mini-jack and optical 5.1 audio output. The Digital Photo Copy Cruiser Plus costs US$299.
