Freeverse Software on Tuesday announced plans to distribute Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood in North America. The game is presently in final beta testing by German Mac game publisher e.p.i.c. interactive. Freeverse said it will distribute the game to Apple Stores and other Mac software retailers, and will also sell the game from its own Web site for US$29.95.
Developed originally by Spellbound and published in 2002 for the PC in the United States by Strategy First, Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood is a squad-based real time strategy game that has you leading Robin Hood and his Merry Men against the evil Prince John Lackland on more than 30 missions and through five different environments and different weather conditions. Nine different characters each sport specific abilities.
Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood requires a G3/300MHz or faster, Mac OS X v10.2 or higher, 128MB RAM, and a video system with at least 8MB VRAM. A 56MB playable demo is available for download as well.
