Canto has released Helios Companion 2.0, an upgrade to the company’s set of modules for use with the digital asset management (DAM) solution Cumulus. Helios Companion consists of four modules — Helios Synchronizer, Helios Filter, Helios AssetProcessor and Helios Companion Setup — that enable automatic synchronization between Helios EtherShare and PCShare volumes and Cumulus catalogs, support for the file formats used by Helios ImageServer, the ability to publish production data to the Web and more.
While the earlier version was limited in its compatibility with Cumulus 6, Helios Companion 2.0 takes full advantage of the DAM’s latest features, such as Asset Handling Sets, its structured category tree and Helios ImageServer’s format conversion capability. Helios Companion 2.0 also offers an exclusion list for keeping certain assets from being cataloged, pause and resume functionality in Companion Setup that enables Synchronize Setup commands to stop while other operations are in progress and more.
Helios Companion 2.0 requires Mac OS X v10.2, Java 1.3.1, Cumulus Workgroup or Enterprise Edition 5.5.1, Helios EtherShare 3.1 and Helios ImageServer 2.5. This is a free upgrade for customers with current Upgrade Advantage Programs. Contact Canto for the prices of Cumulus and its add-on options. Demos of Cumulus Single User Edition, Archive Server, Publishing Server, Business Server, PDF Asset Store, QXP Asset Store, URL Asset Store, Office Suite and Photo Suite are available.
