Dell Computing is the latest in what promises to be a long line of companies to release a music player meant to go head-to-head with Apple’s iPod mini. The company’s Pocket DJ is nearly the same size as the mini at 3.5 x 2.1 x .05 inches but offers a 5GB hard drive rather than the mini’s 4GB drive and is priced $50 less than the mini at $199. Dell also announced an updated, 20GB version of its Dell DJ, priced at $249.
Both players support the MP3 and WMA file formats and transfer data via a USB 2.0 connection. Dell says the new players will be available next month.
