It may have been in development since February, but MacSoft made up for the delay on Thursday by announcing that its real-time strategy game Rise of Nations will include the Thrones and Patriots expansion pack in a Gold edition when it ships next month. Rise of Nations spans 6,000 years of history, from the Ancient Age to the Information Age, as you take control of one of 18 nations and expand its borders. You build cities, improve your nation’s infrastructure and use military, diplomatic or commercial means to defeat your opponents. You can play against the computer or against up to seven friends over a LAN or the Internet.
Thrones and Patriots adds six nations, four single-player campaigns, over 20 new units, new wonders that you can build and new government types. The Gold edition will ship for the same price previously announced — US$49.95 — but system requirements were not available as MacCentral posted this article, nor was a product page on the MacSoft Web site.
