British distributor Widget UK announced on Monday a new series of carrying cases from designer Covertec. In addition to cases for various Palm models and other PDAs, the company introduced Covertec Nappa leather cases for Apple’s iPod. The case’s face flips up for access to the iPod’s controls, with openings at the top for the headphone jack and other ports and credit card storage slots on the inside. In addition, the Covertec Nappa features a “Wips System” belt clip that releases the case when its spring-loaded side arms are squeezed.
The company’s Web site refers to it being compatible with the “iPod III,” which is supposedly the 3G iPod, but no further explanation is provided. The Covertec Nappa comes in black or red for GBP29.99 (United Kingdom pounds) ($53.93).
