Seapine Software Inc. announced on Tuesday that TestTrack Pro 7.0 is now available. This upgrade to the company’s bug-tracking solution features a database that can be configured for Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server on the backend; LDAP and Active Directory support for validating user log-ins and retrieving user information; the ability to link bugs in a parent/child and/or peer group relationship; better integration with Seapine’s change management solution Surround SCM, enabling associations of defect resolutions between it and TestTrack Pro; and more.
The developer offers TestTrack Pro licenses two ways: named, which specify users, and floating, which allow a certain number of concurrent users on the system. Pricing for the former starts at US$295, with the latter starting at $795; free upgrades for one year are included. Seapine also offers a bundle with Surround SCM and sells SoloSubmit, which lets an unlimited number of users submit bugs through their Web browsers for $395 per TestTrack Pro server.
TestTrack Pro 7.0 runs on Mac OS X Server and uses a Web-based client, although Seapine’s Web site doesn’t specify the version number of OS X Server required, nor does it note browser compatibility. The company’s stand-alone client only runs on Windows. You can sign up through the TestTrack Pro Web page for a 30-day evaluation of the software.
