Munich-based developer Equinux announced on Tuesday the release of TamTam, a Mac OS X application for TomTom BV’s TomTom GO, a GPS device that you mount in your car and use to view maps of the surrounding area and receive spoken directions to one of thousands of destinations. TomTom GO connects to your Mac via a USB cable and TamTam enables you to upload new maps, including the American and Canadian ones included on the TomTom GO CD, as well as change the spoken directions to another language or regional accent and backup the system. TamTam is €12.80 (US$14.30) and can be downloaded from the Equinux Web site. Mac OS X v10.2 is required.
