German developer End If Software has made good on a promise made in July when it said it would ship the final version of MediaMaid FM, its asset management system for FileMaker Pro 6, during the fourth quarter. On Wednesday, the company announced that the software is now available, with a version compatible with FileMaker Pro 7 to be released later this quarter.
MediaMaid FM is customizable and features the ability to exchange data with local or remote FileMaker Pro databases, import and export XML and SQL, import images from digital cameras, publish content in HTML or Flash and more. It also offers a variety of ways to search for assets and organize them.
Upgrades from previous versions of MediaMaid FM are US$95 while the full version is $195. An Open version that connects FileMaker Pro databases to MediaMaid is available for $395, with free upgrades for registered users. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2, 60MB of hard drive space and FileMaker Pro 6.
Later during the fourth quarter, End If Software will also release a MediaMaid client that doesn’t require FileMaker Pro as well as a Server version for use with FileMaker Pro workgroups. Other system requirements are the same, and pricing was not announced.
