Developer Ampede on Thursday announced the release of LayerLink, a plug-in for Apple’s Motion video effects software that enables native multi-layer Adobe Illustrator support. LayerLink makes Motion on par with Adobe After Effects in this area and allows artists to import Illustrator files as Motion projects, keeping all their settings intact as they use Motion’s real-time tools on them.
Through the end of October, you can download LayerLink from the Ampede Web site and purchase it for US$99. After that, it will cost $119. Ampede’s release notes mention that PDF compression is not supported in LayerLink and that it can only import Illustrator files with a .ai extension.
