The coordinators of the uDevGames 2004 contest note that its deadline is coming up in only a few days: This year’s independent Mac game development contest will only accept registrations through October 25. Established in 2001, uDevGames encourages innovation in Mac game development by having contestants submit games that can be freely played by the public using open source code that can be used by other developers to create more games.
uDevGames 2004’s next milestone is the voting of submissions — that begins on November 8, and titles will be judged on Gameplay, Graphics, Audio, Originality, Story and Polish. Prizes will be offered to developers or teams in the top three entries in each category. Best Overall Game, Best Newcomer and an Editor’s Choice Prize will also be awarded. This year’s prize pool includes more than 100 items with a combined value of more than US$20,000.
