Game publisher Feral Interactive’s latest news update notes that its Macintosh conversion of Ford Racing 2 is done and has gone to manufacturing. The game is anticipated to hit store shelves within two to three weeks.
Ford Racing 2 is a conversion of a console game developed by Razorworks and published by Empire Interactive. Feral and its development partner Zonic are no stranger to Razorworks’ code, having previously brought Total Immersion Racing to the Macintosh. This game puts you behind the wheel of famous vehicles made by Ford Motor Co. — everything from performance hatchbacks like the SVT Focus to classic muscle cars like the ’71 Mustang Mach 1. You can also try your hand at off-road racing in the F-150, the EX Concept and others, or take to the open road in a Ford GT or a Crown Victoria.
Game modes vary from straight races to elimination runs, drafting, how close you can stay on the racing line, time trials and more, with tracks ranging from city streets to country back roads, vacation spots to jungles and more. Minimum system requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2 or later, G3/800MHz or faster, 256MB RAM, 3D graphics with at least 32MBV VRAM, DVD and 250MB hard disk space. Ford Racing 2 is available for pre-order from Feral’s Web site for US$30.
