Freeverse Software debuted Big Bang Chess earlier this year as free download to much acclaim — the game walked away with two Apple Design Awards at this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC). Freeverse on Tuesday announced that it has released Big Bang Board Games, a collection of classic board games including a more “refined” version of Big Bang Chess.
Big Bang Board Games includes Chess, Checkers, Reversi, Tic-Tac-Toe, Mancala, Backgammon and 4-In-A-Row, all sharing common integration with Apple’s iLife applications. Each game lets you play and manage iTunes songs for your soundtrack, and support “play by e-mail” (PBEM) functionality through Mail and Address Book. What’s more, you can invite buddies to matches using ichat, share pictures with your game opponent using your iSight camera, and also use Freeverse’s own game matching service, GameSmith, to meet other players online. Demos of individual games are available for download; Big Bang Board Games costs US$24.95.
