The forthcoming Southern California MacFair 2004 will feature free computer equipment recycling, in coordination with ease e-waste, Inc. Attendees will be able to discard old computer equipment including monitors, CPUs, fax machines, printers, servers, phone systems and any other office electronics products. The Southern California MacFair 2004 takes place on November 12 – 14, 2004 at Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif. The three-day event features a Mac-related expo and seminars. Recycling will happen on the 13th and 14th.
The free recycling program will help attendees avoid the trouble and cost associated with disposal of their old hardware, according to the show’s coordinators. Improper disposal of such hardware is now illegal in the State of California following the passage of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003. What’s more, attendees that bring old equipment to be recycled will get a US$30 off coupon for a new Macintosh from LA Computer Co. (conditions apply, see the coupon for details). Additionally, SoCal MacFair and ease e-waste will conduct a charity cell phone drive with proceeds to benefit the Junior Diabetes Research Fund.
