Digidesign has introduced Pro Tools 6.7, an update to its audio editing software that features support for RTAS instruments on TDM Aux inputs, support for multiple plug-in outputs, new MIDI Detective functionality for creating tempo maps and groove templates, the availability of Beat Detective for Pro Tools LE users, color-coding of items by function and more.
Users must have a Digidesign-approved Pro Tools|HD, Pro Tools|HD Accel, Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack or Mbox system. Pro Tools|HD and HD Accel system owners with Pro Tools TDM 6.4 or higher can upgrade to the new software for free starting Nov. 1. Pro Tools LE 6.7 owners can also upgrade for free but must complete and mail in an Update Request Form that can be found on the Digidesign Web site. The company will then mail back the upgrade.
Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack and Mbox owners can purchase the upgrade for US$75 from the online DigiStore or from Digidesign dealers beginning Nov. 15. Pro Tools|HD and HD Accel systems shipping now will have the Pro Tools 6.7 installer CD included, while Pro Tools LE systems will have them starting in January. The Digidesign Web site had not been updated with information about the new Pro Tools software as MacCentral posted this article.
