Developer Submersible Music has announced that
DrumCore 1.5 will be available during the first quarter of 2005. The new version of this drum track creation tool features the ability to create custom drum kits, support for dragging files between DrumCore and DAW applications and
DrummerPacks, a way to add to the software’s library with new content. The first two DrummerPacks will be DrummerPack AL, which includes loops and fills played by such professionals as Alan White (Yes, John Lennon) and Matt Sorum (Velvet Revolver, Guns ‘n’ Roses), and MattPack I, which features a wide variety of Sorum’s drumming styles. While MattPack I requires DrumCore 1.5, DrummerPack AL offers tracks in Apple Loops format, which also makes it compatible with Apple’s Logic 7, Soundtrack and GarageBand applications.
DrumCore 1.0 is US$249; anyone who registers it by Jan. 1 will receive the 1.5 upgrade and MattPack I free when they become available. MattPack I, which will also ship during the first quarter of next year, will be $79.95 by itself. DrummerPack AL, which will be available by the end of 2004, is $49.95. Pricing and system requirements for DrumCore 1.5 were not released; DrumCore 1.0 requires Mac OS X v10.2.3, a G4 processor running 400MHz, 256MB RAM, 10GB hard drive space and a DVD drive.
