WiebeTech on Tuesday released a Serial ATA (SATA) version of its Mac Recovery line — a combination of hardware and software designed to enable Mac OS X users to easily read the contents of a 3.5-inch SATA hard disk drive.
The bundle comprises a TrayDock SATA version — the TrayDock accommodates a single 3.5-inch hard disk drive mechanism — which includes FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 ports. Also included is Prosoft Engineering’s Data Rescue software. The two combined enable users to try to extract and recover data from hard disk drive mechanisms that have experienced some form of data corruption. The new Mac Recovery TrayDock SATA costs US$199.95. It joins other Mac Recovery kits for 2.5 and 3.5-inch IDE drives that range in price from $149.95 to $199.95.
