Spotlight is an exciting new feature coming to Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger” when it is released sometime next year. Apple bills Spotlight as “the first industrial strength operating system to feature a fully integrated, fast, and efficient search across all of the files on a system.” To help Mac OS X developers get the most out of Spotlight, the Apple Developer Connection (ADC) has posted a new article in its Tiger Developer Overview Series entitled “Working With Spotlight.” The article covers how Spotlight works, how developers can query it from their own applications and how to create file format importers.
