Apple’s iPod Store is the company’s online e-store for all things iPod and iPod mini-related. You can buy the players there, as well as a variety of third party accessories ranging from charging cables to headphones, carrying cases and more. Now Apple has added “Customer Ratings” to the iPod Store, to let customers review and rate third party products. Ratings are based on a five-point scale, and customers can write short reviews talking about their experience with the product. Apple has some terms and conditions for writing a review, which can be done by anyone who has a valid Apple Online Store, .Mac or iTunes Music Store account.
Oh, by the way, Apple’s own products are exempt from the review: Any Apple-branded product already gets a five-Apple rating automatically. Why? “We give all Apple products a rating of ‘5 Apples’ because we think they’re great,” said Apple.
