British developer Devon Technologies Ltd. has released DevonNote 1.5, the first of three updates to its major applications. The software offers a place for writing, storing and organizing notes, pieces of text from Web sites and other information. It features an integrated, Safari-based Web browser and a text editor that’s capable of producing documents in Rich Text Format (RTF). This upgrade offers more than 100 enhancements, including automatic linking of words to other documents with the same name, a “Go” menu that streamlines navigation, an Actions button for use with one-button mice, user-definable labels and more.
This is a free upgrade for existing users; the full version is US$20. DevonNote 1.5 requires Mac OS X v10.2.7 and 256MB RAM. A company representative told MacCentral that updates to DevonThink, a more robust version of DevonNote, and DevonAgent, an Internet search agent, will follow, “one after the other, within the next four weeks.”
Finally, Devon Technologies has also released PhotoStickies 5.2, a maintenance update for its Webcam and picture viewer, and ThumbsUp 4.0.1, which offers Italian language localization for the free thumbnail generator. PhotoStickies 5.2 is a free update; the full version is $12. Mac OS X v10.2 or higher is required for both applications.
