Iogear Inc. on Tuesday announced the launch of its 1.8-inch Ion hard drives. The new drives feature either USB 2.0 or combo USB 2.0 and FireWire 400 interfaces, and include a version of Dantz Development Corp.’s Retrospect backup software. The new Ion drives are available in 20GB or 40GB models. The USB 2.0 version costs $199.95 or $299.95 for 20GB or 40GB respectively, while the combo version costs $249.95 or $349.95 for 20GB or 40GB respectively. They’re compatible with Mac OS 9.2 or higher, including Mac OS X.
