on Monday introduced G-Drive, a new line of external hard drives whose design bears a striking resemblance to the Power Mac G5. Available in capacities up to 400GB, the G-Drive features FireWire 400/800 and USB 2.0 connectivity, a fan-less cooling system that dissipates heat without noise, an 8MB cache and 7200RPM disk speed. When it ships next month, G-Drive will be available in three configurations, each with 160GB, 250GB or 400GB of storage: G-Drive FW, which offers two FireWire 800 ports and one FireWire 400 port; G-Drive Combo, which comes with two FireWire 400 ports and one USB 2.0 port; and G-Drive USB, which includes one USB 2.0 port. Prices will start at US$169. G-Technology did not have a product page available on its Web site as MacCentral posted this article.
