T-Squared Software has released FootTrack 2.0, the next major version of its application for cataloging digital video clips. This upgrade improves the search function with real-time capabilities, as well as adds options to search by clip name or description; burns videos to CDs and DVDs from within the application; adds support for viewing widescreen clips; allows you to type in the comments field while watching a video; enables custom compression settings; compresses videos in bulk; and more.
This is a free update for owners of version 1.7 or higher; the cost for users of lower versions is US$19.95. The full software is $49.95. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2 and 5MB of free hard drive space plus 180MB per 60 minutes of compressed video. FootTrack is compatible with all versions of iMovie, Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express.
