Netgear Inc. on Monday released its
Super Wireless ADSL Modem Router, which combines an ADSL2+ modem, a router, a four-port 10/100 LAN switch, an SPI double firewall and a 108Mbps “Super G” wireless access point compatible with 802.11b and 54Mbps 802.11g. Its Ethernet ports are capable of speeds up to 200Mbps, and it can share one IP address with up to 253 users. It also features built-in port forwarding and Virtual Private Network (VPN) pass-through. On the security side, the firewall can filter content and optionally issue e-mail alerts to users, with DMZ support for unrestricted Internet access to one computer hosting Web services on the local network.
