Realviz software on Tuesday announced that it is shipping ImageModeler 4.0 for the Mac, a new version of their 3D modeling application that follows the PC version’s 4.0 release over the summer. The new 4.0 release adds a 3D/2D integration tool, which enables users to integrate existing CAD 3D projects into 2D photographs. Also new to this release is a UV mapping editor, the ability to apply textures from other sources, new Calibration Constraints, QuickTime VR Object Movie export and the SnapShot tool, which exports an image of the 3D scene as a JPEG file. Other improvements have been made as well. ImageModeler 4.0 costs US$1,380. Upgrades are available from earlier versions. System requirements call for a G4, Mac OS X 10.1 or higher, 256MB RAM and 50MB free hard disk space.
