German Mac game developer and publisher e.p.i.c. interactive on Friday announced that its conversion of “Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood” has gone gold master. The game is now in duplication and is expected to ship to stores within the next two weeks.
“Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood” first saw life as a PC game from Spellbound. It was published in the United States in 2002 by Strategy First. A squad-based real time strategy (RTS) game, “Robin Hood” put you in control of the legendary bandit and his band of Merry Men as you take on the evil Prince John Lackland in 12th century England. You play through more than 30 missions, through five different environments and different weather conditions. Nine different characters you can control at various points through the game each sport different unique abilities.
e.p.i.c. itself is distributing the game in Europe, while Freeverse Software is handling the game’s distribution through the United States. It costs US$29.95. System requirements include a G3/300MHz or faster, Mac OS X v10.2 or higher, 128MB RAM and 8MB VRAM. A playable demo is available for download.
