The free audio editor Audacity has been upgraded to version 1.2.3, which fixes a major bug that caused the application to randomly crash. Other minor bugs have been fixed as well, and its performance has been enhanced. Audacity, which is in development by a team of volunteers at SourceForge.net, can record, play, import and export files in WAV, AIFF, Ogg Vorbis, MP3 and other formats. You can use it to cut, copy and paste sounds into new tracks as well as use such built-in effects as echo, change tempo and noise removal. Mac OS X v10.1 is required.
