Forbes’ World Media Digest contains an article from China Daily reporting that Toshiba Corp. has agreed to sell flash memory to Apple early next year. If true, this is yet one more piece of evidence that suggests Apple will deliver a flash-based iPod in 2005.
Currently Apple’s least expensive iPod — the 4GB iPod mini — sells for $249. Analysts posit that a flash-based iPod could sell for between $149 and $199 and be announced at January’s Macworld Expo in San Francisco.
