Blackmagic Design on Monday announced it is now shipping its Decklink Multibridge, an all-in-one analog converter and breakout box. Priced at US$1,995, Decklink Multibridge can handle both high- and standard-definition video, with the ability to convert between SDI and analog audio and video simultaneously, eliminating the need for small converter modules. It features a 64MB memory buffer, four channels of +4dB audio on standard XLR ports, eight channels of AES/EBU digital audio in and out, unbalanced audio outputs on RCA connectors and more.
Decklink Multibridge also offers a USB connection, which allows users to control its settings with the Decklink Multibridge Utility, which Blackmagic also released on Monday. The free software, which you can download from the Blackmagic Web site, displays a graphical version of the rear panel connector for ease in changing settings. In one to two weeks, the developer will released Decklink Multibridge SD, a $1,495 device that includes the same features as the regular Multibridge, except support for high-definition video.
