Blitz Research has released
BlitzMax, a new BASIC programming integrated development environment (IDE) for games. It’s related to the company’s Blitz3D and BlitzPlus environments for Windows programming, but it adds such new features as function pointers, fully dynamic arrays, “by reference” function parameters, UTF16 strings and more. The code you write with it can be compiled to run on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux, and BlitzMax’s modular design allows you to store collections of code in a separate place for reuse in a later project. Pricing is US$80, and Mac OS X v10.2 is required; you need to have Project Builder or X-Code developer tools already installed.
