Destineer subsidiary MacSoft on Thursday released a patch for the popular first-person shooter Halo which brings the game’s code in line with the Windows version. In addition, Halo 1.5 adds support for USB gamepads and joysticks as well as support for the Mac-only online multi-player service GameRanger. In addition, it fixes a variety of bugs and offers several graphical enhancements, including an Advanced Pixel Shaders option for use with ATI 9600, 9700 and 9800 and NVIDIA 6800 video cards, optimized lens flare effects for gamers running Mac OS X v10.3.5 or higher and more. While you might see the game referred to as version 1.06, a MacSoft representative told MacCentral that the company has decided to call it version 1.5.
