Other World Computing and Newer Technology Inc. on Friday announced the availability of NuPower replacement batteries for Apple Computer Inc.’s iBook laptop computers — both the white-clad “Dual USB models” and the original “Clamshell” models.
The “Dual USB” battery costs US$119.99 and at 3600mAh provides 9 percent more capacity than a stock Apple battery, according to the companies. A $139.99 4800mAh model offers 45 percent more capacity. The “Clamshell” models are available in a 4400mAh, $129.99 variant — 37.5 percent more capacity than the original — or a 4800mAh, $139.99 version — 50 percent more juice.
