Today Ambrosia Software, Inc. announced the release of
WireTap Pro, an audio recording application for the Macintosh that will capture sound from any running application, microphone, line-in, or headset. Additionally, the $19 application directly supports Griffin Technology’s
radioSHARK, allowing you to set a radio frequency on the device from within WireTap Pro.
Unlike the earlier free WireTap, WireTap Pro integrates with Apple’s iCal application to create scheduled recordings. Once you create a schedule you can save it as a package and pass it along to your friends so they too can automatically record broadcasts from such networks as the BBC and NPR.
The program supports recording in a variety of audio formats including MP3, AAC, QuickTime, and AIFF. WireTap Pro also lets you save directly into iTunes, making it easy to move recordings to an iPod.
A trial version is available from Ambrosia’s website.
